Full Version: Music of the Heart {PG-13}
Lucas had already returned and honestly, I was quite sad knowing that Caleb and I won't be able to spend as much time anymore. This morning, a knock was heard in the room. I was expecting Caleb but to my surprise it was Luke.
"Hey, Maria," He hugs me tight and kisses me. "I missed you."
I smiled at him and replied, "I missed you too."
Now, that wasn't a lie. But somewhere in me, I felt as if Luke and I didn't have much spark as we used to anymore. As I was writing my thoughts in my diary, someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," I said. I continued writing thinking it was Maya(she usually does that to think she's someone else).
I looked up from the bed and found myself looking at Caleb.
"Oh. I thought you were-" My voice trailed off as he looked at me.
"Er..." He says looking at my pj's.
I looked down and realized that my top wasn't fully buttoned and that my bra was seen! Damn it!
I quickly button it and hear Caleb chuckle.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I got the pictures," He says, handing me an envelope.
I opened it and took the picture out. It was Caleb and I during our trip to this beach, which was not supposed to be mentioned because some people might think that he and I are....
"Thanks," I replied.
"You're welcome." He says. Caleb suddenly snoops at my diary and grinned. "What are you writing about?"
I closed the book and gave him a soft glare. "Nothing."
"I bet you're just writing about all these girly stuff huh? Guys, fashion, shows." Caleb, again chuckles.
"No I am not writing about those things.....well not all." I answered.
"By the way, Luke wanted me to tell you that his family is celebrating his birthday with his family. And it's gonna be a big one." Caleb says sitting beside me.
"Wh- why didn't he tell me?" I asked.
"He didn't know either. Luke's mother called him earlier and had told him....and now he's on his way to the manor."
"His family?"
"It's his 22nd. That's the age when Lucas is inheiriting the family business."
"Wow."
Caleb handed me a sealed envelope and replied, "You'll have to dress up."
I stood up and opened the closet. Taking out some of my gowns while Caleb, had an interesting look on his face.
"None of those looks good." Caleb says.
My jaw dropped. "Lucas picked them out for me, you know."
"Well he has bad taste of clothes FOR women, then eh?"
"And you're his friend why?" I murmured.
"I beg your pardon?" Caleb says.
I rolled my eyes. "Nothing."
"Right,"
"Well what am I going to do?" I asked.
"Buy new ones." He says.
"I've got no money right now,"
"I'll pay." Caleb says.

You know what's ironic, Lucas bought clothes for me and that was when I realized that I had feelings for him. And now here I am, with Caleb in this boutique, trying out gowns for Lucas' party. The gowns were just beautiful, but after looking at the price tags, I thought otherwise.
"Don't even think about choosing a horrid dress just because of the price," Caleb says, looking at me with his eyes.
I let go of the tag and looked away. "I am not."
"Liar." He says.
I started to grumble and from the look on his face, he was amused.
"Just choose the one you like best while I'll look for a tux, okay?"
"You're buying too?" I asked.
"Well ofcourse, I have to dress up as well."
I sighed. "Fine."
After a few minutes, something caught my eye. I looked closely, and saw the most elegant gown ever. I took it out and stared at it....its perfect. I looked at the tag and sighed. Nothing good, costs good.

"Try it on first though. Is this your size?"
I nodded. "Yeah."
"Try it."
I sighed. Took the dress and went in the changing room. This isn't gonna work

As I looked at myself in the mirror, I realized that I looked really different. I felt comfortable with myself and smiled. I came out of the changing room and looked for Caleb. He was in the shoes department looking at these white sandals and had a funny look on his face.
"Um, Cal?"
Caleb turned and smiled. "Beautiful." He says.
I felt myself blush and tried not to make it obvious.
Caleb took out the shoes and looked at me. "It matches the gown. Perfectly."
I looked at his face and I was paralyzed by him. Damn it Maria, say something!
"I- I um... think we need to go now, we haven't got time."
Cal looked at his watch and frowned. "I guess we don't. We still have a meeting with the guys and Maya."
"A meeting?" I asked.
"There are some rules we have to discuss about Lucas' family," He replied.
Oh ow.
After the "meeting", we continued with our studies and Lucas was back again. For a few days, Luke seemed a bit off but I understood. Cal told me the his mother was very picky with the women that Lucas dates...and I was nervous. Today is our Valentines Ball and again, everyone is all dressed up. I bought a gown (all by myself) and tried to look at my best. The color was red or pink for women and red or blue for men. I was nervous because Maya looked really beautiful and I wondered how I would look.
I took a deep breath. Here goes.
As I waited in the main hall where Maya and I were supposed to meet, I caught sight of Cal. I didn't know why, but I came up to him.
"Do you know wher-"
"He's still in the room, fixing himself up." He replied.
"Oh."
"You can just wait inside you know,"
"Can't. Need to wait for Maya."
"Well you're gonna have to wait awhile then. Saw her hooking up with Anthony again,"
"Oh."
Then there was an awkward silence. I was too occupied thinking what should I say so again, a few more moments of silence.
"Do you wanna go in?" Cal asks.
"Okay,"
As we entered the door, alot of the people were already dancing and chatting. Cal and I stayed in the corner for a few minutes until Brandon came.
"What are you two doing, keeping a low profile?" Brandon says.
"We're waiting for the others," I replied.
"Well here I am," Brandon grinned.
"Not you," Cal says.
"Well, Lucas is right there," He pointed.
Lucas came in the doors with Maya and Anthony and Dom was with another girl.
"She's puurty," I told Brandon.
He chuckled. "That's Eleanore Murray, daughter of Governor J.B. Murray."
"Cool." I replied.
"The woman bets alot," Cal says.
My jaw dropped. "She does?"
Brandon shook his head. "Yeah. Such a shame...she goes to casinos and all those crappy places."
"Sad."
"Yeah," Cal replied.
"Cal, Brandon!" Luke walks towards us and gives me a short kiss. "Hello, Maria."
"Hi," I replied and smiled.
"You look beautiful," Lucas says, taking my hand.
"Thank you," I replied.
"Hey guys," Maria and Anthony says.
After a few hours, everyone including Cal was dancing. Cal dances?!
"Listen,"
I looked into Lucas' eyes and replied, "Yeah?"
"I'm really sorry if I haven't given you much attention these past few days. It's just that..."

"My mother wants to meet you in the party. And she's a little..."
"Agressive?" I asked.
"You can say that." He replied.
"I'll do my best."
Lucas kissed me on the lips for about five seconds and broke it. "I love you."

I giggled, "Great! Okay, let's go. We still need to meet the guys."
"Transportation?" Brandon asked.
"2 Limos, duh." Caleb replied.
"TWO?"
"That's the rule," Dom added.
"So ladies and Anthony in this first one and us in the second. All clear?" Caleb looks at all of us with a smile.
"Clear!" We said all together.
This is gonna be really interesting.
The limo went around the big big entrance and finally we reached the parking lot. It was a mansion, they had a LOT TO PARK YOUR CARS!
"Cool." Anthony said looking at the gate. "It has the intials A.M. on it."
"Ashford Manor?" I guessed.
"Doi." Maya replied.
"Here we are miss." The driver says.
"Thank you," I told him.
"Off we go, ladies." Anthony says opening the door.
After a few minutes, Caleb and the other arrived. We waited for them in a huge ballroom and I was really shocked at how rich Lucas' family was.
"Okay, remember the rules and don't do anything stupid. If someone talks to you, remember to bow and answer politely." Dom started yapping about all these things while the guys were chatting. I'm getting freaked OUT!
As guests arrived, the guys were having a conversation with a few guests and I noticed this really beautiful woman enter the room. Caleb stood close to me and wiggled his finger.
"That's Elizabeth Iliana Bliss. Daughter of Viscount Louis Beaumont of France. Rich and a very respectable family." He says taking a sip of wine.
"And why should I care?"
"Lucas' mother wanted her to be the fiancée of Luke...he didn't love Ellie so he declined to the plan. Watch out for her, she's quite a chatter."
I gulped. "That just made my night." I replied.
Caleb tapped me on the back. "Watch out, she's coming."
Elizabeth was walking towards us and I didn't know what to say. Damn it!
"Caleb, Domnique and Brandon! What a pleasure to see you all again."
The guys bowed to her and so did Maya. I had no choice but to do so as well.
"Ellie, these are our friends Anthony Carter, Maya Rudolph and Maria Rodriguez."
Elizabeth gave us a smile and bowed. "Nice to meet you all,"
"What's been happening, Ellie?" Brandon asked.
She laughed politely and replied, "Well you know how it is in Harvard."
I saw Dom roll his eyes and sighed. "Ofcourse," He says.
"Well, it was nice seeing you all." She says and bowed to us one more time and left.
"What a b*tch." Maya whispered.
"Maybe she's just proud of herself." I told her.
"Yeah right." She says.
