Thought this would be of interest to some of you. April Lindner (author of Jane, our first book club read) posted on Facebook today:
"In the throes of revising my WUTHERING HEIGHTS novel, now retitled CATHERINE."
"No...Heathcliff's a punk rocker, albeit more Billie Joe Armstrong than Sid Vicious."
I've never read Wuthering Heights, but Heathcliff as a punk rocker sounds intriguing! Glad this punk rocker won't be mean to any puppies!

Thanks for providing that information, Diana. I'm really excited to see how things play out in Catherine given the whole twisted story of WH.

From April's website (http://www.aprillindner.com/):
My next novel, Catherine, is becoming a reality.
This just went up in the "New Deals" section of Publisher's Marketplace:
JANE author April Lindner's CATHERINE, pitched as a modern retelling of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights told in two voices, twenty years apart and set against the East Village punk scene, centered around Catherine's passionate, obsessive romance with struggling musician Hence and her later mysterious disappearance, to Julie Scheina at Poppy, for publication in Fall 2012, by Amy Williams of McCormick & Williams Literary Agency (World).
