Please keep in mind:
-Do not bash anyone else's fashion taste. Everyone has their own style and find things out on their own
-Do not chit chat, keep it on topic
-Do not start fights with anyone because that is just wrong
-Do not break any rules. If you see anyone breaking rules alert Julie or Janey and they will handle the problem (Thanks!)
-If you post a picture (Photo or drawing) please source it for various reasons. One being you are crediting someone elses work for them and two say someone likes a top, they can find it and get it!
-If you post a photo of an hair style: Use google. NO photobucket or imageshack links. Sorry, but I just dont trust them. You MAY use them for CLOTHES and makeup.
-Make sure all the pictures are not over sized. No one likes a stretched page.
-If you are posting a picture of your hair, do not show your face. Get a picture off google instead. It's safer for us and then no one has broken the rules. The same thing goes for make up.
-NO PAGE FAIRIES!
-Please limit exclaimation points to three. I think we get the point.
-and remember to have fun!
It's just fashion!

Right now, the current fashion trendy sandals in the shops I see is... some sort of gladiator sandals. It's lace up or something... I don't want it though...
Ugh, you know what? I can't find it.

I like SOME gladiator type shoes. Sam Edelman has some really cute gladiator type sandals.
These I bought at the begining of June and I have worn the heel out of them already! I love them!

And I ended up getting these as well. they are so cute!

And I love this dress! I know I have said it before but Zac Posen really is a goddess!

I can not approve buying it though (especially since I bought another dress by him awhile back)
And I also LOVE this dress.

It is so retro chic!

My hair is dark brown, a bit past shoulder length. My face is round. I don't know if any of you would have suggestions or what, but any and all would be appreciated. :)

Those are very retro yet professional.
Also if you have some plain scarves or maybe some that are toned down you could use them as head bands and let the ends trail on your shoulder.
Also you could style your hair so that it hides the missing hair whether in really parting it to the side or adding some hieght and covering it.

My hair is dark ash blond, by the way, so a hair dye that would work with that as well.
And I was also wondering what I could do to help my hair grow out because of a disaster this hairdresser caused. She claimed I'd look better with a profesional, weird puffed out chin-length straight edged cut. And after about 15 minutes of cutting and spraying my hair she gave up and said the disaster looked fabulous.... I gotta say her manager was kinda p!ssed at her for this disaster...
So, got any ideas on how I can get my hair to grow out a little faster? Or at least some suggestions to make it look longer?

I can't say I have experience with black, though-- I've used light auburn both times, and I'm fixing to use medium auburn brown this next time. However, my sister dyed hers from dark blonde to dark brown using the same brand and it looked fine.

Ack, Nat, I feel for you :( I think if you want to make your hair look longer, you should straighten it, unless it's straight already... That would also work for making it look less puffed out. If your hair is already straight, but is still looking puffy, then I say have a look in supermarkets/hairdressers for some kind of serum that would make it less puffy. Also, accessorise with bright head bands/hair clips/cloth head bands (like Kat suggested for Jane!) to draw attention away from the rest of your hair. They would probably work best if you straigtened your hair and treated it with some kind of anti-frizz serum, like I said before. Good luck! :D
Once I had a haircut that I hated and when I saw staying at my nanna's, I went back to bed in the daytime because I was so miserable - I wasn't allowed to straighten it to make it look better, but at least the manager of the salon didn't agree that it looked crap, lol.
Ooohhhhh, yay!! I got hair straighteners for my birthday a couple of days ago! My first pair :) I love them so much, I really suit straight hair.

I finally bit it and decided to get a ghd straightner this past year (super expensive but soooo worth it!) and I love it. No complaints at all!
As for the whole dyeing thing I have only ever used salon dye so I do not know about supermakrte brands or anythign like that. But I have gone from dark to Blonde and from Blonde to dark and dark to red etc etc.
and Nat I agree with what Char said. Also I know when people grow their hair out they do not want to cut it but in the long run it is alot better to go for trims even with growing it out (your hair will be healthier) ~huggles~ I am sure it will get better in no time!

And thanks for the suggestions, ladies. I think I'll have to exeriment, see what works best and looks best. It's a sort of awkward place to cover with a headband, but maybe I can figure something else.

I just went back to the old thread and realized that this was meant for me. Um... I've never really thought about it. I'd never buy a, like, fur coat or anything made out of real fur. I never thought about leather though. Hmm. I won't lie to you, Penny Pringle, but I can't say that I wouldn't buy a leather jacket. I'm a big advocate of PETA and I've been to two of their marches and I fully support them. It's not like I'd buy a leather jackets like I buy shirts. I'm very content with one leather jacket for years and years. I can safely say that the most leather jackets I'd buy would be like two. Three at the most. But I can't imagine myself wearing a jacket like that when I'm forty. And I do feel hypocritical being an advocate of PETA and such, but I want a leather jacket so *#&$%%ing bad, that I just couldn't NOT buy one if I had the money. And that's another thing. The kind of leather jacket I want is like three thousand bucks. I don't think I'll ever have the MONEY to even BUY one. It's something that I want and it's something that I'd buy if I had the money and I can safely say that until I'm like thirty I won't have it. And even then I think it'd be too late.
Also, I don't like leather. I think leather should remain for couches. And even at that, it's gotta be fake leather, cause honestly who gives a crap?
Mike & Chris, who make these amazing clothes and are very well known for their leather jackets, DO use real leather.
This jacket, is made out of real lambskin. And I won't lie and say I don't want it. Badly. (It's surprisingly 600 dollars o_o!)
or this.
But yeah, whatever. I don't know what else to say.

All I love. Especially because I finally have something (skinny jeans) that would look good with this bright green pesant top I own.
To tell everyone the truth, my birthday actually sucked :( I sat inside, watching my mother sleep the day away, and the rest of the time I was being insulted about my dolls. So I had to banish them to their coffin boxes and put them in the closet... :icon_mecry2: I hated it. And the only thing I got to do was go down to the Denny's and get a brownie and a scoop of ice cream. That was the higher point of my entire summer.... :( :( :(

that's how i want my hair cut. or that's my dream haircut. i don't think i have the face for it though! i think i'd look... fat, to simply put it, with hair like that. like, i'm not overweight by any means, i just... i dunno. so little people actually can pull off short hair. what if i'm not one of them?
http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.com/image-files/celebrity-long-hair-08.jpg
and that's how my hair currently looks like (sorta), except dark dark brown.
so it's a really big change from the long hair to that... really really short hair. and i'm scared that it won't look good. i don't know what to do! i don't know if i'm willing to take such a big step. cause then, what if it looks horrible and i'm stuck with short hair for over a year? o__o shittt.
i've considered something a BIT longer like this
http://www.emohaircutstyles.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/emo-medium-hair-330x426.jpg
(but without the highlights.)
(maybe even a bit longer.)
and then there's the whole bang thing! i have a teeny forehead. like a two (three if you have smallish fingers) finger forehead. i would LOVE bangs with longish hair. but with my forehead... i dunno.
my god. i should stop ranting.
but really. i've meant to go to the salon in the building to get my hair cut for the last two weeks. but i always chicken out! :( i honestly have NO freakin clue what to do

I went on a birthday-money shopping-spree recently...
I got a Pandora bracelet (sterling silver), with these charms: Charm One (my friend bought it for me, for my birthday ^_^ ) Charm Two (bought by me).
The was a bit of crap over that bracelet actually. I was originally sold the smallest size of seventeen centimetres, but eventually my mum took me back and got me an eighteen centimetres bracelet, because the other one was really tight. Apparently, they stretch (I believe that they do, too) and that the first size was right for me... but come on, whoever heard of a tight bracelet? For eff's sake. So, taking into account the fact that my hand will grow, the beads that you have to put on, and the fact that the 'stretched version' of the nineteen centimetre size fit me but was quite big, this should be my perfect size! :D
Phewf, lol. That was... long.
hehe.
Also, I bought two scarves - 2 for $15 (NZ dollars) deal! Yay! One if bright blue, one is black and grey :)

But: I need a rain coat. And rain boots. And an umbrella. All, preferably, cute. Suggestions? I had a black belted coat in mind, preferably hip/butt length. But I'm open to ideas. :)

I think I know which rainboots I'm getting - they're a brand called Hunter Wellington. They're a taaaaad pricey, but I want a pair badly. They're supposed to be durable and they come in cute bright colors. I'm getting the orange :)
I checked out Target's selection (they have a lot of rainboots) online, and they are cheaper, but many of the reviews complained about their durability and said they were good fashion-wise but not so good if you actually wanted to USE them.
But I'm stuck on raincoats & an umbrella.

Sorry, I know this is not a helpful suggestion at all, but, I just thought this was funny ... Its a rain helmet!
http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2008/02/UmbrellaNEWSTEAM_450x450.jpg
I like these clear umbrellas, but then, I like the really rainbow or pink/blue/green dot kind of umbrellas. I found this cute blue dots one, but, I think its one of those flimsy ones, which, the moment it even gets slightly windy, it'll turn the other way round.

Anywho, this was all a bit of a ramble about nothing, sorry! Please post some pictures of your umbrellas, Jane and Mel, when you find one(s) that you adore! :) By the way, I wish you both a very safe and amazing trip to England!

I'm not sure how much use you both will get out of rain boots, tbh. Especially living in cities. I live in a small country town, and I've only ever worn them if I've gone in a river or something during the winter. I only see little kids wearing them on normal days. It's not THAT rainy here! Well, actually, it probably is, but it's not likely that your feet will get soaked from wearing normal shoes. If it does get really wet, it's probably best to buy them here rather than taking them on the plane - they'd take up a lot of space in your luggage, especially if you never wear them!

Any suggestion for something in between? Good for wet weather, but can be worn other times too?

Most people tend to wear boots in autumn and winter, either with or without heels. I usually just let my feet get wet by wearing converse [although these do keep your feet quite dry if it's rained but isn't when you're outside] or cheap boots, but you can get boots which are waterproof, but easier to walk in and wear when it's not raining than rain boots.
It's true that we do get a lot of rain [we haven't recently, though] but it's not usually heavy. Often we'll have light rain on and off during the day, and when we do get heavy rain it's rarely stormy. We also seem to get the heaviest rain at night, so anything with a waterproof sole is okay during the day.
