Calling All Bananas!:
It was today seventeen years ago when a member of this site was born. It was said in the scriptures of Banana that a new member of scared group would be born on the third of the second month and rise high and become a leader. So thus to a pair of hippie parents, this child of the prophecy was born and would grow up to become what the scriptures had foretold. The hippie parents named her Shaina and they did not know what future would unfold for their gifted daughter.
As Shaina grew older, the signs became apparent to those who knew of the scriptures of Banana. At age five (and lookin’ mighty fine), Shaina had a teddy bear named Katie. When her parents would call her she would not answer. Shaina’s parents were perplexed- why would she not answer when her name was called? “It’s because,” Shaina began to explain “my name is Bookie now. Katie told me so!” So Bookie – Neé Shaina- was now what she was called. Katie stayed with Bookie where ever she went. When Bookie reached her tenth year, she would listen to the band Oasis non-stop due to the suggestions of her new friends George the Moose and Bri the Bee. They became her new best friends along with Katie the Bear. The signs were becoming to become much clearer.
The Almighty Anna Banana, meanwhile, was searching the globe for those blessed in the ways of Banana. She was beginning to believe that she was the last of her kind and despair was taking over her. The Almighty Anna Banana then fell upon The Scriptures of Banana- better known as Banana Peels. It stated of a young girl who would become high up in the ranks of Banana and along the way would gather the others who were lost from Banana. But The Almighty Anna Banana was not alone, one day, she ran into an ice skater named Kat. Together they set out to find the others no matter how long it took. Along on their journeys, they ran into a girl named Sarah who was eager to help on their quest.
Bookie was growing older now and she still had the help of her friends who all seemed to love Bananas for some reason and platonic lesbian relations with each other; no matter how much they loved men they couldn’t keep their hands off each other - Another sign was revealed to those who were wise in the way of Banana. The group began a new sensation where you had to say something nice to others- it was a simple thing but it always made them feel good.
The Almighty Anna Banana was coming closer to find her lost comrades. Kat sensed that they needed to head towards a place called “The Meg Cabot Book Club”. She felt that they would gain a lead there. So they started a Banana Thread and with each numbered title, they went through with the rituals that state no matter way, one must claim that the title is lame. It was now a time where Shaina was of age and could join the MCBC. She and her friends felt a strong pull towards the place. It was there that they found the Banana thread and were welcomed by The Almighty Anna Banana. “Welcome, Bookie, we have been expecting you. It was told in the Banana Peels that you would bring a new coming to our clan. Thus I now say that I shall perform the ceremony of creating a new thread for you and our friends, Bri, Katie, George, Sarah, and Kat. We shall live on together! ….Sorry, that’s a lame title.” So, for the rest of their days, the Bananas remained friends and would always remember what great times were shared.
It is now Bookie’s seventeenth year, and although we- The Bananas- are no longer together, we shall always remember our traditions and celebrate birthdays with a title. Kat had the honor of creating the title this year and we now formally present it with another origin story for Shaina’s birthday.
