I loved the Princess Diaries movies, even though they weren't that faithful to the books. But I think that if there were an All-American Girl movie and it changed the book just as much as the Princess Diaries movies did, I would feel differently. To me, Sam's interests and personality and stuff are what make the story so special. I would honestly be quite upset if the movie was a generic Disney movie where she didn't have red hair and like art and ska music. It would probably still be a good movie, but it would kind of ruin the books (for me, at least). Does anyone feel the same way? :)

Yep, I think if the movie wasn't Disney there would be the possibility of them not cutting out her interests, which would be great because they really seem like the essence of the book. Maybe that's just me though.

That was horrible! They killed off Mia's dad! Oh, and they made grandmere nice. Does she seem very nice to you? Umm...no. And Mia wasn't a vegetarian in the movie. She was sitting around, eating corndogs. And she wasn't brown-haired in the book. And she didn't wear glasses. Those are only off the top of my head. But I hope if they ever DO make an AAG movie, I hope they make it at least close to the book.

Yeah, i think it would be pretty cool if they made a movie out of All-American Girl and Ready or Not. With the whole Disney Princess Diaries thing, I have to say I absolutely agree, and I actually think, (but I am not 100% sure), but I think Meg Cabot agrees because I think she mentioned something that is similar to the story version of the disney movie, and "Mia" didn't like the version of her life story at all. :) I don't know if anyone else remembers that, but I do.

I would be really dissappointed if they majorly changed it. Im almost glad it fell through with disney or whoever, because though I do love Raven Simone, she definately does not fit Sam madison. Drake bell, on the otherhand, I am sorry to see go. I think he would have been a great David.

i think all book that were made into a movie always screwed...i know these are not meg cabot's but like harry potter, cirque du freak, even the last song were made into the movie and they really screwed up the story..
but anyway, i wonder who do u guys think could play as characters from all-American girl & ready or not if there were a movie of it?txxx (im really curious about this hahaha)

^Disagreeing about Harry Potter. I think they did a really good job with the movies, actually. I mean, they HAVE to cut out parts so that the movie isn't ridiculously long.
Anyway, I was totally rereading this, saw the first post, thought "as long as it wasn't Disney, then it'd be fine", then read what I wrote. The same mind thinks alike, even after 2 whole years :D.
Oh, and I'd be really SUPER excited if it became a movie. Just as long as it's not Disney. because you KNOW Disney's going to screw Avalon High up.
