:unsure:
I love david(big fan big fan). He sounds so dreamy*.* But in RoN I soon realized the reason is because Meg didn't say anything about his friends.
He sounds like a creature just flowting there, being nothing but only sam's sweet boyfriend and the son of the president.
I mean, in Princess Diaries, Michael seems full soul because he has some friend and maybe he's not as perfect as David is.
I dont know, but do u think Meg thought it was unhelpful for the story? or He really has no friends being the president's son(sad)??

I just don't think that David's character is defined by his friends and therefore Meg might not have written about that aspect of his life. Or maybe, because well... the president's son must find it hard to make friends as he isn't sure who really likes for who he is, instead of who his father is.

I think in the first book when he and Sam were at Jake's getting burgers he might have said something about having to leave his friends when his family moved to Washington. And like someone else pointed out, artists are looked down on at his school. So maybe he had friends, but hasn't made any new ones since moving.

Bahaha =)
David Has No Friends!
All Jokes.
I don't think they would have had big Parts,
So Im guessing Meg didn't mention any just to simplify it.
