I really liked the book, a LOT better than the first one, and I guess a big reason I liked it was because it was really mature and adult... I mean, Samantha's like 17 now (I think...) so a lot of talk about sex is natural. And I was happy Meg went somewhere a little less innocent in one of her books for teens. Besides, if you've just read the first few chapters, it's no wonder you didn't like it that much. Try reading it cover to cover, I bet you'll really start to like it.

I prefered AAG.
I really didn't like how RON just became about "Doing It''. You know? Kind of like PD 6. It was just...okay.

But in all fairness, when you get to a certain age, a lot of your life does begin to revolve around "doing it". You get curious about it, or you may be in a relationship yourself which could possibly be advancing towards taking "that next step".
I actually think this book was a reasonably true to life portrayal of what (might) go on in someones head, when they are contemplating the above. And I also think that the way it is shown is responsible and teaches those who read the book a good lesson, and doesnt say that having sex as a teen is a bad thing, like it so often is portrayed.
..sorry, long and babbly post that prop makes no sense xD
