"Maria, you being accepted in the academy is a big honor. Do you know that?" Mother asks, giving me her stiff look.
I nodded. "Yes."
"Well then it's settled. Marcela, you will be the next top student of Cresencia la Musica Academia. Prepare yourself, child." Abuela patted my back and nodded at Juan, our family driver.
"Señora Maria, this way." Juan opened the door and I followed.
The Rodriguez Family is one of the wealthies families in California. Unfortuanately, I am one of them. I guess it sounds weird, but I don't like being a Rodriguez. I can think of many reasons, but one of them is the fact that people expect alot from you just because you're a Rodriguez.
I mean, I'm not as good in music as others! And now, here I am sitting in the back of the car waiting for Juan to drop me off to the academy. Cresencia la Musica Academia is the most respected music school in the all of Europe and the United States, and where the meanest of the mean brag about their talents. Crap.
Breathe,Relax,Concentrate and not get side tracked. That was my rule for the whole year. The Academy is a both for girls and boys dorm. I heard that once, one girl was found making out with her boyfriend in the boy's dorm and she was expelled. Tough break for her, and her parents must've been really furious! So, that was when I vowed, to never ever have a boyfriend while being in the Academy. EVER.
I dozed off for a few minutes and when I woke up, I realized that we were by the gate.
"Is this it, Juan?" I asked.
Juan nodded. "Yes Señora."
I looked at about 6 big buildings. One had a sign that said, "Boys Dorm" and to the left was another building with another sign, "Girls Dorm."
The academy is bigger than I had thought.
"We're here, Señora."
I took a deep breath and took my luggage. "Wish me luck Juan, I'm gonna need it."

"Oh, um...I'm kinda Spanish so usually we get long names." I replied carrying my suit case in.
"Make yourself at home. And yes, I know you. The youngest of the Rodriguez family...." She looked up at me and smiled. "How does it feel to be a part of the richest families in america?"
I shrugged. "Same as what others might feel, I guess."
"Interesting. So, you wanna take a tour? The school's pretty big so you might need to do some navigating."
I nodded. "I noticed. Is that gonna be okay, though?"
"Sure, come on." She replied and took my hand.
At least she's nice.

I looked up and saw Maya her eyes opened wide, jumping up and down.
"What is it?" I asked.
"The guys! They're here! The guys are here!" She exclaimed. "Look at the window," She says putting the curtain up.
I looked down and saw about 20 or 30 guys with their luggage heading towards the dorms.
"Wow...they're tall."
She giggled. "Look, it's Caleb!"
"Where, where?"
She pointed, "There."
I took out my glasses and looked closely. A black haired guy, about 6 foot 2 in height and was bringing a violin case and his suit case.
"That's him?" I asked.
"Yep, hot isn't he?"
I tilted my head and smlied. "Yeah."

There were only 2 days left till school starts and I was getting nervous.
"C'mon we're goin to the cafeteria." Maya took her jacket as she opened the door.
"Why?"
"Cause! The guys are there!"
I grinned. "You never told me how much of a guy-lover you are."
"It's a hobby."
The cafeteria was crowded with alot of people...and alot of girls, circling the guy's tables.
This is like a circus.
"What now?" I asked.
"Let's sit on a far away table." Maya replied.
As we sat down I sighed. "Why are we sitting so far?" I asked.
"Because we're near, Caleb." Maya pointed at something behind me and I looked back, finding Caleb two tables away from us.
"If he's so popular why does he sit alone?"
"He doesn't want to be around girls." She frowned.
"What, is he gay?" I whispered.

Suddenly, a soft melody of music filtered.
Maya sat up, her eyes opened wide. "What is that?"
I closed my eyes and listened carefully. "It's Niccolo Paganini's '24 Caprices'."
"What?" Maya asked.
I pointed at the balcony across the fountain and looked closely. "Who's room is that?"
"Oh, that's Caleb's."
"He's playing one of the most complex music I know." I replied.
"He's a very determined man, Maria."
I sighed. "If only I could play that well."
"You could if you practice 24 hours a day like him." Maya chuckled.
"Actually, it's not only because it sounds good...Paganini is my favorite composer, and I only know how to play two of his works. That's a complete embarrassment."
"Don't be too hard on yourself, Iya." Maya tapped my back and grinned. "Wanna get some ice cream?"
"No thanks. I'm going to the room, okay?"
"Suit yourself." Maya shrugged.
I've got to prepare myself.
I went to the main hall and noticed how brightly lit the hall was. The wall was carefully painted in beautiful designs. I was looking around the halls, when suddenly....
"Umph!" I bumped into someone.
I looked up and saw a tall, blonde haired guy....that looked very good-looking.
"Oh, sorry I- uh..Miss?" He says.
I shook myself. "Sorry! Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking so,"
The guy chuckled and replied, "That's alright. Are you new here?"
I nodded.
"I'm Lucas Ashford." He replied, taking out his hand.

japanese? jap? yeah, i know what you mean. i get absolute craze when I hear: KanJi. *shudders* my teac. but, man, I can never remember that many strikes and meanings. Only one kanji has at least 3 ways of pronounciation. I just can't be bothered too learn that right now. :badgrin:

I opened the windows, trying to get the fresh air and lay down the bed. As I closed my eyes, I heard a beautiful string of music, circling me as I lay.
Paganini's Moto Perpetuo...Perpetual Motion.
The bow was moving quick yet gracefully. I sat up and listened carefully, finding out that the music was coming from the girls' dorm. Slowly, I stood up and looked out the balcony.
I listened to the piece and I smiled, picturing the girl whose talent is much greater than mine. Suddenly, the music stopped.
I opened my eyes again, looking at the starry sky and feeling the cold breeze of the wind on my face.
I guess it's ended. I thought, and went back to bed.

Phew, that was some piece.
I put my violin and music down the table and sat down.
"I'm back."
"Hey, Maya. Where ya been?"
"Just had a little chad with some friends." She replied with a grin.
"Girl friends?" I asked.
Maya blushed and giggled. "Guy, friends."
"It's a little late isnt?"
"It's only 10:14 in the evening." Maya replied.
"Well, I'm going to bed now."

I got off the bed and put on my slippers and went inside the bathroom.
"Fine. I'll be heading to the showers."
"Maria, no showers are in there....only a sink and a toilet. You do remember where they are right?" Maya asked as she handed me my towel.
"Oh yeah..." I replied as I splashed water on my face. "So...I'll be heading to the showers, now."
Maya laughed. "You're a weird girl, Maria."
"Thanks." I replied with a grin.
Showers are in the next building right beside the big statue with a dog. I reminded myself.
I walked around the halls, trying to figure out the location, when I found a sign that said, 'SHOWERS'
Yay, I found it!
I peeked in and found no one. Opening the door, I slowly went in. The showers were in different cubicles and surprisingly, each cubicle had a door!
Weird, showers.
As I took off my shirt, I heard running water. Someone's in here?
"Hello?" I said out loud.
No answer. I shifted my head, and followed the water. It was the 3rd cubicle! I held the knob but it was locked. I moved closer to the door when suddenly, the door opened.
"Oh my gosh!"

"Yep. Hey listen, I'm just gonna talk with some friends of mine and I'll introduce them to ya later okay?"
I nodded. "Sure, sure. I'll just be outside."
"Thanks." Maya gave a smile and went to a group of people and started chatting.
Lonliness...not a fun thing to experience. I thought.
I moved to the huge balcony and just stared at the trees. It's soo green!

I turned and found Brandon, Lucas and another HOT guy I didn't know.
