A while ago I had my own living without technology experiment, and I found out I can do without electric lights or tv or air conditioning, but I couldn't make the leap to turn off my fridge. I also very much appreciate the washing machine. It's hard to wring all the water out by hand.

The hardest technology for me to give up would have to be the computer. This is because it's a source of awesomely fun websites (like this one), MSN conversations and homework research help. (:

The hardest piece of technology for me to give up would definitely be my phone. I don't remember people's numbers at all, and it also has a calendar, calculator, and a notes section for when I get a story idea! Whoever created the mobile phone was a genius.

Cheese and Onion are the classics for me though.
Plus Ready Salted.
I love Sour Cream-Cheese and Chive as well.
Then there's chocolate and chilli which I got addicted to when Walkers did that competion.
I love French Fries Crisp aswell. ALL FLAVOURS. I love the shape and I could probably eat the whole pack in one day but there are younger people in the house, so we gotta share.
Oh and Monster Munch - Pickled flavoured.
oh my god, nearly forgot about baby crisps, the ones with no JUNK in apparantly. Tomato and Herb flavour. Pretty amazing.
Cheesy Nibbles.
Space Raiders -pickled flavour
Hardest technology to live without would be TV or Internet. I think I'd go with TV because there's always something on. Good movies. Soaps that my family and I have been watching for years. I do spend alot of time watching TV. WAY more than the recommended daily allowance.
But then there's Mafia Wars on Facebook. I'm totally addicted, 86 days played continuously which still would have been going on if my brother hadn't banned facebook because I didn't do something he wanted. 2 days I went without, ruined my streak and I still think about the fact I would have been on level 238 instead of 234. Makes me mad.
But I think I spend more time watching tv then Mafia wars. so Tv would be hardest.

The technology I could not live without would be the internet: I use it everyday for research. I love books, but the internet is so much faster and more efficient.

As for the electronic device I would have a hard time giving up, it probably is the internet. It allows me to keep up with everything that happens in the , like tv series or simply book releases.

Hardest technology to give up? I have no idea what I would do without the Internet, especially the blogs I read. I have learned about so many about movies, books and TV shows (Friday Night Lights for one) that I wouldn't have heard about without them. :)

But the technology I would hate to give up is this little hand-held toy I've had for a few years now, but it has all sorts of games on it, like Solitaire and Tetris and this racing game and I can entertain myself for hours.

The hardest technology to give up would be the tv. I watch way too much. And then I couldn't watch movies either, which I probably also watch too much of. :)

In short, UConn is nothing without its fabulous ice cream, and I probably would have to transfer schools if I were forced to give it up.
As for technology, I'm not even sure I would technically exist without my laptop. Without it I would have no access to assignments, work schedules, bills, job opportunities, and research-related documents. More importantly, I would have to go without checking Facebook, PassiveAggressiveNotes.com, and AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com, among others. I would then be forced to find some other method of procrastination, which would no doubt annoy my roommates and neighbors. Yodeling, perhaps. Or possibly taxidermy.
Oh my God! I think you just sold me on this school. I know nothing about it, but anything involving that much ice cream *must* be good.

Hardest food to do without: Chocolate. To good and hard to give up when it comes to THAT time of the month haha.
Hardest Technology: I love my computer to much, but it is such a time waster, so in the end it'd probably be a good thing for me.

The type of technology I couldn’t live without is my computer. I rely on my computer for most everything. It is my typewriter, dictionary, telephone (skype), newspaper, address book, and link to the outside world.

The hardest technology for me to do without would be my computer. I practically live on this thing... which definitely isn't good, but whatever. I've accepted my addiction. Sort of. I'm still kind of looking into rehab.

The winners will be chosen from here! So answer these two VERY difficult questions below:
What would be the hardest food for you to give up (in order to get healthy), and what would be the hardest technology for you to do without (such as TV, cell phone, Internet, cars, etc)?
For me: Chocolate chip cookie dough (although breaking the diet soda addiction was definitely worst) and the Internet! (Although makeup would be hard for me to give up, too.)
Chocolate is an obvious one but i am a sucker for all that gum that tastes sooooo good but is full of gross chemicals. for electronics, powerpoint, i am constantly making random powerpoints for no reason, they're just so fun!!!!
[You have five days from now to post! We'll let you know who the winners are, and then how to submit your addresses to get your prizes!
Read Fat Cat! You’ll love it!

The hardest technology for me to give up would be the internet, I use it for everything. I use it to look up things for school, and to find out important information. For example, to look up a video to compare it with my toe to see if it was broken. It practically told me, "No, Emily your toe is not broken. Just quite your poking at it and get some ice." If I had no internet then I would have just sat there poking at it until my mom finally found the number for our nurse friend. Also if I had no internet then I would not be able to be here right now writing this...Which I could never dream of not doing.

The technology I can't do without is definitely the Internet … and the MacBook I access it with. The Internet has so much entertainment.

As for technology, I actually think I could live without my computer. I could NOT live without my TV. I need my daily Buffy fix! I need my Bones and my Doctor Who! And it's not just that I love the shows, which of course I do. It's also that I do stuff that I wouldn't normally do while watching them. Like exercising. I would be so much heavier if I didn't have a TV.

The most difficult technology for me to surrender would have to be lights. I enjoy reading to an extreme extent and read a little of whatever book I am reading almost every hour and were I to be without artificial lighting, I would have to give up before bed reading. I believe I would loose many hours of sleep if I were unable to read before hand. Also, I am a amateur writer and do my best work in the evening. Without light, I would be unable to do my best work and would likely be at square one with my writing, so to speak, for the rest of my life.

The hardest unhealthy food for me to give up would have to be Pop-Tarts. Most people think they're a nice healthy breakfast food but really, they have 400 calories. Not. Good.
The hardest technology for me to live without would have to be my computer. It's the main mode of communication between me and my friends and it keeps me occupied a lot. It's also how I do a lot of my homework.

I don't know if I could give either up. Maybe the M&Ms but NEVER the chicken wings. They are way too good!
I think giving up the Internet would be the hardest. What would I do with my time? I would feel so lost.

I agree with Dan Glickman though, "I'm someone who believes the only way to see a movie is in a big theater, on a big screen, with a big bag of popcorn."
I do not really think I could survive without my laptop but maybe if I was put to the test I could. One thing I could never live without though is lighting! How much we all take for granted that with the click of a button we can light up an entire room. Without light in my life I would feel completely lost in the dark- literally. Giving up the laptop would be a challenge most definitely but giving up lights to see everything- that would be an impossible feat for me.

Anyways...
The hardest junk food to give up would be the chicken nuggets from McDonalds. I mean, hello bite sized chicken pieces that also come with fries, a drink, and a TOY? That my friend, is a quality meal.
What technology would be hardest for me to do without?
That questions even harder. Like you, I'm very dependent on my computer, so I'd go with that. However, my makeup bag and Ipod are a definite (and very close) second.
Thanks for the amazing contest!
Love, Hannah (a.k.a. deprived (of books!) girl in black who's crossing all her fingers!)
