I love Avalon High! I re-read it every few years.

:D

Right now I started a book by Theresa Romain (Season of Temptation, I think? It's the first of her seasonal romances) and then I'll be reading Crossing the Like, which is set in the skating world.

I finally read If I Stay and Where She Went last week. Even though I really liked them, I think I was expecting more. Still excited for the movie though!

I'm going to start Stephanie Perkins's Isla and the Happily Ever After, which came out yesterday.  I'm so excited because I'm a big fan of Stephanie's books. :)

What is BD?  Do you not live in the United States?

One of the most memorable and original books I've read lately is "Fiendish", by Brenna Yovanoff.  It is a (fictional) first-person account of a girl who grew up from age 6 to 16 buried behind a basement wall in her burned-down house, while bound by magic with her eyelids sewn shut. Yes, it's creepy, but she is freed, and in the end, is able to use the power she was born with to keep the magics from flooding the town and killing everyone.  I think the genre for this book may lean (strongly) toward the horror end of the spectrum.  A very weird coming of age story.

I am currently reading a cozy mystery series called The Cupcake Bakery mysteries by Jenn McKinlay. Its an adult series about two life-long friends who own a cupcake bakery and solve mysteries. There's another series by Jenn that I like called Library Lovers. The main character is a librarian who also solves mysteries.

Thanks, Meg Cabot, for your recommendation on the book "The Swap" by Megan Shull.  I checked it out of the library, and I've read it 3 times in the last 5 days.  It is so funny, and so touching.  I like it so much I've ordered a copy from my local bookstore.

Also, I just finished Alan Bradley's latest Flavia de Luce mystery, "As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust." It is classic Flavia; very enjoyable.
